Welcome to Soft Soil—I’m so glad you’re here!

My name is Amy, and I'm a San Francisco based technical program manager and data scientist who deeply believes in the potential of technology to facilitate healing, growth, and meaningful change. This space is born from my personal journey of navigating healing from trauma, and my desire to share the strategies, tools, and insights that have helped me along the way.

it me

For a long time, technology has been my profession and passion, but in recent years, it has become a powerful ally in my personal healing process. Whether it’s using data analytics to better understand my emotional patterns, daily meditation practice, or simply connecting with communities that make me feel less alone, technology1 continues to play a crucial role in my recovery and growth.

Through Soft Soil, I’ll explore how intentional, thoughtful engagement with technology can support not only individual healing but also broader advocacy for change, particularly around preventing sexual abuse and supporting survivors. I’ll share personal experiences, highlight practical resources, and dive into emerging research. I’ll also discuss how we, as tech creators and users, can leverage innovation for advocacy and prevention.

I invite you to join me on this journey—let’s discover how technology, combined with mindfulness and community, can help us heal, reconnect, and transform.

With warmth and hope,

Amy

1  I’ll explore a wide range of tech, from ancient tech to AI. No programming skills required (though they may come in handy), there will be something for everyone.
